Situated on a rural hillside meadow with sweeping vistas to the west and south, Overlook Road Estate’s contemporary lodge is grounded by masonry terraces and swaths of plantings. The family has three young children and desired a weekend/vacation home to entertain friends and escape their urban life. Their aesthetics are formal contemporary, orthogonal and grand, akin to the estate landscapes of the Hamptons. Outdoor dining and grilling, space for gathering in large and intimate groups, a fire pit, pool with privacy plantings, spa and a large play lawn were to be incorporated into the design.
